Several DPWH Pampanga District 2 personnel relieved over alleged demand for kickbacks

Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed that they received reports regarding officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who allegedly extorted and demanded a percentage from agency contracts.

According to Dizon, the report came from Pampanga District 2.

The officials were reportedly asking for as much as an eight percent (8%) cut from the contracts.

In an announcement, the secretary said that three personnel implicated in the issue have been relieved of their posts and placed under suspension.

He added that a full-blown investigation will be conducted to determine whether the officials indeed demanded percentages from the projects.

Earlier today, Dizon inspected the collapsed dike in Barangay Candating, Arayat, Pampanga.
