Former President Rodrigo Duterte told the House Quad Committee during its 11th hearing on November 13, 2024, that he is not afraid of the International Criminal Court (ICC). He challenged the ICC to come to the Philippines anytime and investigate his campaign against illegal drugs, saying he welcomes any probe into his actions.
Despite facing continued questions about his war on drugs, Duterte firmly stated that he has nothing to hide. He explained that he launched the campaign for the sake of the Philippines and its youth. He also expressed willingness to undergo any investigation, saying, “I did this for the country and for the children. I have nothing to hide.”
Duterte added that he is growing impatient with the delay, saying, “They are taking too long, hurry up, because I’m getting old and I might die soon.”
He also made it clear that he would not apologize for his actions, declaring, “If I go to hell, so be it.”
As of now, the hearing is still ongoing at the House of Representatives.
