Duterte bloc urges release of flood control probe report

Lawmakers from the Duterte bloc in the House of Representatives are pushing for the public release of the investigation report on controversial flood control projects.

The group is seeking a resolution that would require the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) to disclose the findings of its probe, saying the public remains unaware of the results of the investigation.

The move came after Malacañang confirmed that the commission’s operations will end by the end of March this year.

PPP Party-list Rep. Harold Duterte said the commission has yet to publicly disclose its findings or announce its next course of action regarding the investigation.

The issue traces back to Sept. 24, 2025, when the House suspended the Infrastructure Committee’s investigation into alleged anomalies in flood control projects. The suspension followed the creation of the ICI through Executive Order No. 94 signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

According to Rep. Duterte, the process surrounding the commission’s report has raised questions because the findings reportedly require approval from the Office of the President.

He said the public should be informed about the contents of the report that will be submitted to the president’s office.

Members of the Duterte bloc in the House include Rep. Paolo Duterte, Rep. Omar Vincent Duterte and Davao City Rep. Isidro Ungab.

The lawmakers have joined calls urging the commission to disclose the results of its investigation into the controversial flood control projects.

They said releasing the report would allow the public to see the findings before the commission concludes its operations.
