Drunk man attacked with machete by his own father in Cebu City

A 36-year-old man suffered a head wound after being attacked with a machete by his own father in Barangay Babag 2, Cebu City, early Saturday morning, March 15.

The victim, identified as Alias Horace, was wounded in an altercation with his father, 73-year-old Norberto, who later surrendered to authorities.

According to initial police reports, the elder Norberto was asleep when his intoxicated son arrived home past 1 a.m. Horace allegedly forced his way into his parents’ bedroom, claiming he intended to kill his father.

A commotion broke out, leading the father to strike his son with a machete in self-defense.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment, while the police are investigating the incident further.
