President Donald Trump is demanding a full investigation into what he calls a “corrupt and unlawful” scheme involving A-list celebrities allegedly paid to endorse Kamala Harris during her 2024 presidential run.
According to a GLOBE Magazine report, Trump accused several prominent entertainers — including Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, and Bono of U2 — of accepting secret payouts through private companies or affiliated nonprofits in exchange for their high-profile support of Harris’ failed campaign.
Taking to his Truth Social platform in a heated post, Trump questioned whether Harris funneled money to Bruce Springsteen in return for his campaign appearances. He claimed these actions could constitute illegal campaign contributions and vowed to push for a federal investigation.
Cardi B and LeBron James also named
The former president’s post included allegations that WAP rapper Cardi B, who publicly claimed she wasn’t compensated, received $58,867 through her firm linked to the Harris campaign. The report further identifies LeBron James, Lady Gaga, Jon Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, and even folk band Mumford & Sons as potential beneficiaries of what Trump labels backdoor campaign spending.
“This was not patriotism. This was profiteering,” Trump wrote in all caps, stating these entertainers used a “broken system” for personal gain while hiding behind their star power and political influence.
A source close to Trump confirmed he has already contacted GOP allies to begin laying the groundwork for congressional hearings into the matter.
Kamala campaign silent, critics call move political
So far, Harris’ team has not responded to the allegations. However, political observers note that Trump’s timing aligns with his efforts to reclaim influence ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Critics argue this is a strategic move to undermine celebrity voices often aligned with progressive causes.
Still, campaign finance experts suggest the situation may merit investigation if funds were routed through private channels without proper reporting.
One Republican strategist said this could be the start of a broader conversation about celebrity influence and political transparency, especially when campaigns use high-profile endorsements to sway voters.
Meanwhile, Trump loyalists are echoing his demand for accountability, warning that if proven true, the payouts could amount to serious campaign finance violations.
While no formal charges or inquiries have been confirmed, the backlash from Trump’s post has reignited tensions between conservative political figures and Hollywood elite. Whether this results in legal action or remains a high-stakes political fight is yet to be seen.
For now, the spotlight is back on the celebrities who lent their names—and possibly their balance sheets—to the Harris campaign.
