Senate minority seeks dialogue, due process for Senator Bato

The Senate minority bloc has expressed support for Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa while urging the government to pursue dialogue and due process in addressing his situation.

The bloc called on authorities to communicate with Dela Rosa’s legal counsel in hopes of reaching a peaceful resolution.

Despite supporting their colleague, the minority senators acknowledged the responsibilities of the Philippine National Police and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

The group also expressed willingness to assist in any lawful process to ensure that the allegations against Dela Rosa are heard and addressed fairly.

Lacson said he hoped authorities would handle the situation peacefully.

The appeal comes after the PNP reportedly gave Dela Rosa a one-week ultimatum and considered him armed and dangerous.

The Senate minority bloc emphasized the importance of dialogue and fair legal proceedings while recognizing the responsibilities of law enforcement authorities.

The report did not specify the allegations against Dela Rosa or provide further details about the legal proceedings.
