Comelec warns of possible invalidation of SK candidacies

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reminded those intending to run in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections to carefully fill out their forms to avoid issues with their candidacy.

According to Provincial Election Supervisor John Paul Martin, under Comelec Resolution No. 11196, incomplete certificates of candidacy (COCs) will not be accepted.

He said the agency has already simplified the process and advised aspiring candidates to avoid inconvenience by downloading and preparing the required forms early.

Martin emphasized that once a COC is filed, individuals are officially considered candidates, and all election laws and prohibitions will apply to them.

The filing period for the barangay and SK elections scheduled on November 2 will run from September 28 to October 5 this year.

Meanwhile, the campaign period will be from October 22 to October 31.
