11 Bulacan local officials stranded in Dubai

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed that several local officials have been stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Speaking at the Kapihan sa Manila Bay Forum, Remulla said that 11 vice mayors from Bulacan are affected.

He explained that their travel was permitted as it was undertaken in their personal capacity.

The secretary clarified that the vice mayors had secured travel authority, while the travel clearance of one mayor who was reportedly part of the trip is still being reviewed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
