Comelec thanks Marcos, lawmakers for signing law setting BARMM polls date

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and lawmakers following the signing of a law that sets the date for the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections.

Under Republic Act No. 12317, the Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections will be held on September 14, 2026.

The law provides that the first regular election for the Bangsamoro Government under the Organic Law will take place on the second Monday of September this year.

To synchronize future elections with the national and local polls, succeeding BARMM elections will be held on the second Monday of May starting in 2031, and every three years thereafter.

Comelec said preparations for the elections will now begin with the official date already set.
