The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking to partner with no fewer than 100 malls to serve as venues for election-related activities, including voter registration.
According to Comelec Chairperson George Garcia, this initiative aims to encourage more Filipinos to register as new voters or update their existing records.
In an interview, Garcia said the move gives the public greater flexibility to register, update, or transfer their records more easily and at malls conveniently located near them.
He noted that major mall chains are expanding their branches across various areas.
Because of this, Comelec hopes that around 100 malls can assist them in preparation for the 2028 elections.
It can be recalled that just this week, the agency signed an agreement with major mall operators to expand the Mall Voting and Register Anywhere Program (RAP).
