A 24-year-old college student died following a head-on collision between two motorcycles early Saturday, April 5, along Hangar Road in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Authorities identified the fatality as Dustin, a resident of Barangay Basak. He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The other driver, Milky, 21, a ride-hailing app rider from Inayawan, Cebu City, sustained injuries and is currently recovering.
Initial police investigation revealed that both motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions when Dustin reportedly counterflowed, resulting in the collision. The impact threw both riders off their motorcycles, with Dustin landing against a parked elf truck nearby.
Both individuals were rushed to the hospital, but Dustin was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Lapu-Lapu City Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
