Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano emphasized that the fear contractor Sarah Discaya is feeling is a consequence of her own actions.
This comes after Discaya claimed she fears for her safety following her surrender to authorities amid the flood-control corruption controversy. She also shared that the situation has affected her children.
Clavano said Discaya should have thought about the millions of Filipinos whose lives were put at risk because of corruption.
While Discaya has the right to due process, he stressed that she cannot use fear as an excuse to evade accountability.
According to Clavano, she is now facing the results of the decisions she made in the past.
