Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro welcomed Chinese Ambassador-designate Jing Quan upon his arrival in Manila over the weekend.
In a post on X, Lazaro said they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and their shared interest in dialogue, stability, and deeper cooperation in trade and people-to-people exchanges.
Meanwhile, in a Facebook post, the Chinese Embassy in Manila said Ambassador Jing made a courtesy call in the country.
He presented copies of his credentials to Philippine Assistant Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Director-General of Protocol Ariel Rodelas Peñaranda.
Jing replaces Ambassador Huang Xilian, who served in the Philippines for six years.
