It can be recalled that China earlier filed a diplomatic protest against PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, Commodore Jay Tarriela, in connection with his social media posts criticizing Chinese leaders.

Meanwhile, Tarriela stood by his position, saying that his duty as spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea is to openly convey the truth to Filipinos and to the world.

He said that if the Chinese Embassy cannot accept the photos and statements showing their alleged violations, it only means they are uncomfortable because the truth has been exposed.

In an interview with Brigada NewsFM Manila, Tarriela further stressed that China’s responses to such issues are scripted and repetitive.

According to him, China should no longer be engaged on these matters, adding that the country will never apologize to China.
