Brothers die after electrocution in Negros restaurant

Two brothers died after being electrocuted while fixing a canopy light at a restaurant in Barangay San Pedro, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental on Monday, June 2.

Authorities identified the victims as Dexter, 45, and Roilan, 48, both residents of Barangay Sto. Rosario in the same town.

According to the initial investigation by the Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, the incident occurred while the brothers were working on lighting at the restaurant’s canopy. Dexter reportedly touched an open live wire and was electrocuted.

Roilan attempted to rescue his brother but was also electrocuted in the process.

Police have not yet released further details regarding safety precautions or possible liability at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
