The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is preparing its regular jail facilities in case individuals are detained in connection with the flood control scandal.
According to Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, the BJMP and its facilities are ready for this possibility.
He said the agency will not back down from its responsibility.
Remulla added that they are already setting up regular jail cells.
He emphasized that if someone who steals ₱100 from a mall is detained there, then those who pocketed billions should also be placed in the same detention facilities.
He further stated that jail laws should apply equally to both the rich and the poor.
