At Least 4 Senatorial Bets Received Donations from Contractors

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairperson George Erwin Garcia emphasized that no fewer than four senatorial candidates in the 2025 midterm elections allegedly received campaign donations from contractors.

This follows the discovery of 21 contractors who contributed to the campaigns of at least seven candidates.

According to Garcia, it was found that around six or seven of the individuals involved were national and party-list candidates.

He previously stated that their investigation is expected to be completed “in less than two weeks.”

Once the probe is concluded, the Comelec will immediately send a letter to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to verify if the identified contributors are indeed government contractors.
