BI says no monitored overseas travel by Atong Ang

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said it has no record of any travel by Atong Ang leaving the country.

In an interview, BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval said there is no record of Ang’s legal departure in immigration records.

At present, there is also no information indicating that he has left the Philippines through illegal routes.

Sandoval said the Philippine Coast Guard and local law enforcement agencies are monitoring illegal migration corridors.

She added that the BI has not received any coordination related to such routes so far.

This means, according to Sandoval, that no interception has been reported by the personnel monitoring these areas.

Earlier, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said authorities believe Ang is still in the Philippines, but they are not ruling out information suggesting he may already be in Cambodia.

It was also noted that a ₱10 million reward has been offered for information leading to Atong Ang’s whereabouts.
