Batang Pinoy 2025 night market opens at GenSan Oval Plaza

The Batang Pinoy Gensan 2025 Night Market formally opened on October 21, 2025, at the Oval Plaza in General Santos City.

The event marked the start of the Batang Pinoy National Games, gathering young athletes from various regions across the country.

City Mayor Lorelie G. Pacquiao and Philippine Sports Commission Project Director Hon. Olivia G. Coo attended the ceremony and delivered brief messages of support.

Mayor Pacquiao welcomed all delegates and commended the cooperation of local organizers and volunteers in preparing the city for the national event.

Coo expressed appreciation for the city’s hospitality and assured continued PSC support for grassroots sports development and youth participation nationwide.

The night market features food stalls, souvenir booths, and local exhibits aimed at promoting small businesses and showcasing General Santos City’s culture and creativity.

Visitors can find various street food, local products, and performances scheduled nightly to entertain athletes, families, and guests throughout the games.

Organizers said the night market is part of the city’s initiative to provide recreation and promote tourism alongside the sports activities.

In addition, security and crowd management teams were deployed throughout the area to help ensure order and support convenience for vendors and participants.

The Batang Pinoy Gensan 2025 Night Market will run nightly during the competition week, open to both residents and visiting delegates.
