Actor Baron Geisler was detained in Mandaue City on Saturday for allegedly violating City Ordinance 11-2008-434, which penalizes public drunkenness. He was released after a few hours upon posting a ₱500 bail.

Police Col. Mercy Villaro, Public Information Officer of the Mandaue City Police Office, confirmed Geisler’s release.

According to authorities, the actor was at home with his in-laws when he allegedly began challenging people to a fight around 3 a.m. His brother-in-law then called the police, leading to his arrest.

Following his release, Geisler addressed the issue on social media, criticizing news outlets for spreading what he called misinformation.

“Breaking my silence. There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting. Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion. I want to make it clear—I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly. To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
