Barangay chairman of Barangay Lamintak Sur, Medellin arrested for qualified theft

Police arrested the incumbent barangay chairman of Barangay Lamintak Sur, Medellin, after serving a warrant for a qualified theft case against him.

The suspect, Barangay Chairman Ambrosio Ursal Tahadlangit, 65, allegedly misused funds belonging to the water distribution cooperative where he previously worked.

Authorities said the alleged theft involved money entrusted to the cooperative, prompting the filing of criminal charges before the appropriate court.

Law enforcers implemented the warrant of arrest issued by Honorable Judge Clyde Lilid Lobedica of the Regional Trial Court Branch 82 in Bogo City.
