High school students stabbed after street attack in Davao City; six minors taken into custody

A violent street attack left two high school students injured after a group of youths allegedly assaulted them along Diamond Village, Damosa, Davao City.

A video recorded by a netizen showed the confrontation spilling onto the roadway, briefly disrupting traffic as bystanders witnessed the incident unfold.

According to the Davao City Police Office, the attack occurred shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, while the students walked home.

Investigators said a group of youths suddenly attacked the victims, with one student sustaining three stab wounds to the back and another suffering one.

Medical responders rushed both injured students to the Southern Philippines Medical Center, where doctors immediately provided treatment for their stab wounds and injuries.

Police launched follow-up operations and took six minors into custody after the victims identified the alleged primary suspect known only as “Justine.”

Authorities said the suspect voluntarily surrendered a Swiss knife believed to have been used during the stabbing, strengthening the ongoing criminal investigation.

Brigada News Team confirmed that both victims attend Emilio Ramos National High School, while school officials clarified that the suspected attackers were outsiders.

School Head Romeo Tikar urged parents to closely monitor their children and emphasized that strict security measures remain enforced inside the school campus.

Teachers and police continue coordinating their investigation while authorities summon the involved students and their parents to determine the attack’s motive completely.
