Baguio’s Sakura finally blooms after 7 years of patience

One of the sakura trees at Baguio Country Club is finally blooming, delighting members and visitors alike.
The tree’s delicate pink and white blossoms quietly appear, taking advantage of Baguio’s cool climate that mirrors Japan’s spring.

Garden caretakers say the blooms are a rare sight, bringing a sense of wonder to the usually evergreen surroundings.

In the coming days, more guests are expected to flock to the club, hoping to witness the tree’s full blossom.

The sakura trees were donated by Japanese nationals Mr. Shinji Okomora and Mr. Shingeru Tsunashima, along with BCC member Mr. Paz Suzuki.

They gifted the trees in June 2018 and May 2019, hoping Baguio’s climate would help them thrive.
