Alex Eala eyes stronger US Open Run in second main draw appearance

Alex Eala is excited to return to the US Open in New York, where she will make her second appearance in the main draw of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament.

This marks Eala’s second time competing in the US Open main draw after reaching the second round in 2025.

Ahead of the tournament, Eala stepped up her preparations through intense training sessions, where she also trained alongside world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka and Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka.

Eala is also set to compete in the mixed doubles event with world No. 4 Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada.

The pair will face Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina in the opening round.

Meanwhile, Eala is already guaranteed to earn $160,000, or nearly P10 million, from the tournament, with the amount potentially increasing depending on how far she advances.

The US Open champion will receive $5.5 million in prize money.
