Akbayan, Tindig Pilipinas, and Other Groups Urge Ombudsman to Investigate VP Sara’s Confidential Funds

Tindig Pilipinas and the Akbayan Party-list have submitted a letter to Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla calling for an immediate investigation into the alleged misuse of confidential funds, based on the impeachment articles.

According to Tindig Pilipinas, the alarming “assassination plot” involving Vice President Sara Duterte against President Bongbong Marcos, the First Lady, and the former House Speaker cannot be overlooked.

The group added that the Vice President’s alleged threat is not far from the bloody legacy of her father’s war on drugs, which claimed the lives of thousands.

They also stressed that the Vice President must explain how confidential funds under the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education were used—similar to how accountability is being sought from those implicated in the flood control projects.

Tindig Pilipinas stated it will continue to uphold truth, accountability, and transparency.

They said they will not allow impunity to worsen or let democracy be threatened.

It can be recalled that the group was among the leaders of the Trillion Peso March against corruption held on September 21.
