The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is taking a firm stand against the spread of false information, particularly allegations of P15 billion in so-called “ghost projects” from 2023 to 2025.
AFP spokesperson Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla explained on Tuesday, October 14, that the military is preparing to file criminal charges against those behind the rumors, describing the claims as malicious and intended to discredit the organization and its leadership.
She stressed that the AFP views such misinformation as unacceptable, emphasizing that it undermines both the institution’s integrity and the reputation of its more than 160,000 personnel.
Padilla reaffirmed that the AFP remains a professional and honorable institution, committed to fulfilling its constitutional mandate, and will actively defend itself against attacks that threaten its credibility.*
