Some supporters of late student-athlete Rene Baterbonia have expressed concern over a viral video clip from the noontime show featuring hosts Vice Ganda and Vhong Navarro.
Rene’s supporters noticed the resemblance between the hosts’ pose and a life-size sculpture created as a tribute to the late athlete in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.
Some supporters said the gesture was inappropriate and viewed it as disrespectful to Rene’s memory.
However, other netizens defended Vice and Vhong, pointing out that it was unclear whether the two hosts intentionally copied the sculpture’s pose.
Others also suggested that the resemblance may have been coincidental, noting that Rene and the sculpture were not directly mentioned during the segment.
