Filipino boxer Miel “Silent Assassin” Fajardo is closing in on the biggest fight of his career as negotiations move forward for a potential world title showdown against IBF flyweight champion Masamichi Yabuki of Japan.
The International Boxing Federation has ordered both camps to negotiate the mandatory title bout following Fajardo’s impressive first-round knockout victory over Tobias Reyes in an IBF flyweight eliminator in Argentina last April.
Fajardo’s camp is hoping to stage the highly anticipated title fight in October or November, with the 26-year-old continuing his preparations in Parañaque City.
Known for his knockout power, Fajardo is also studying Yabuki’s style as he prepares for what could be his toughest test yet.
With a world championship on the line, Fajardo is looking to turn his recent momentum into the biggest victory of his career—and bring home a world title for his family and his hometown of Agusan del Sur.
