Man shot dead in Cebu; romantic dispute eyed

A 32-year-old man was shot dead in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City, late Wednesday night, Sept. 17, with police investigating a possible dispute involving a woman as a motive.

The victim was identified as Alias Jay, a resident of Barangay Sawang Calero in Cebu City.

The shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m., according to the report.

Closed-circuit television footage showed the victim being chased before several gunshots were heard. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

The alleged gunman, identified as Alias Ed, reportedly fled immediately after the shooting.

The victim’s family said an alleged conflict involving a woman was among the possible motives being considered in the killing.

Police are continuing their investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and locate the suspect.
