The Department of Education (DepEd) continues to ensure uninterrupted education following the recent unrest of Mayon Volcano.
The agency has mobilized at least P3.715 million worth of emergency response funds and has pre-positioned thousands of learning and safety supplies for schools affected by ashfall.
According to Education Secretary Sonny Angara, DepEd is strengthening its measures to protect students, teachers, and communities affected in Albay while ensuring that children’s learning will not be disrupted.
Based on agency data, at least 133 schools have been affected by the recent volcanic activity.
In response, DepEd immediately prepared 850 All-Weather Learning Kits or “EduKahon,” virtual learning and teaching kits, and also activated the Batang Empowered and Resilient Team (BERT).
