Ombudsman to summon Zaldy Co upon return to Philippines

The Office of the Ombudsman will summon former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co once he returns to Philippine jurisdiction to answer allegations under investigation.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said authorities must first secure court jurisdiction over Co to proceed properly with hearings and ensure he is given the opportunity to defend himself.

Remulla stressed that Co will remain a “fugitive from justice” until he returns to the country and submits to court processes.
