President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is nearing the completion of his speech for his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), which is scheduled to be delivered on Monday, Malacañang said.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed that the President is in the final stage of reviewing his address.
Castro, however, declined to disclose the specific topics that Marcos is expected to discuss during the annual address.
She said she has not yet seen the President’s complete speech and has only been able to review portions covering the priority topics.
Castro urged the public to wait for the President’s State of the Nation Address to hear the administration’s accomplishments as well as other announcements that Marcos may present during the speech.
The Palace has yet to release additional details regarding the contents of the address.
Earlier, Malacañang said the fifth State of the Nation Address of Marcos would be conducted in a “simple but dignified” manner.
The annual address is expected to outline the administration’s accomplishments and priorities, although Palace officials have not disclosed specific policy measures or announcements that may be included in this year’s speech.
Castro reiterated that the President continues to review the speech ahead of its scheduled delivery.
She did not provide a timeline for the completion of the final draft or indicate whether further revisions would still be made before Monday’s address.
The President is expected to deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address before a joint session of Congress as required by the Constitution.
