Mother, son injured in early-morning attack by neighbor

A neighbor allegedly attacked and injured a mother and her son inside their home in Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City early morning on February 11, 2026.

The female victim, identified only as “Len,” a 45-year-old businesswoman, said she noticed someone throw a burning object at their house before dawn, which triggered the incident. She immediately went outside to check the situation.

Upon stepping out, the suspect — identified as “Noy,” their neighbor and reportedly a relative — suddenly attacked them with a bladed weapon, injuring both the mother and her son.

Neighbors said they did not expect the incident, noting that the victims and the suspect were relatives and lived near each other.

The suspect is now under police custody, while authorities continue their investigation to determine the motive behind the attack.

Attempts to get a statement from the suspect’s family were unsuccessful, as they refused to comment.
