CAAP Issues NOTAM Following Kanlaon Volcano Eruption

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has advised pilots and flight operators to avoid the vicinity of Mount Kanlaon following its eruption last night.

In an advisory, the CAAP announced the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) due to ongoing volcanic activity.

The NOTAM covers airspace from the surface up to 15,000 feet near Kanlaon Volcano and is effective from 8:06 p.m. yesterday until 8:06 p.m. today.

CAAP reminded all flight operators to remain vigilant and prioritize flight safety amid the volcano’s activity.

Mount Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 2.
