2 carnapped vehicles from NCR recovered in Davao City

Two vehicles allegedly carnapped from the National Capital Region were recovered by operatives of the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group XI in Toril, Davao City.

According to Police Lt. Col. Jed Clamor, chief of HPG XI, the owners of the vehicles sought assistance from authorities to recover the units under a “Failure to Return” complaint against two suspects.

Clamor said the operation was launched after authorities received information that the vehicles were in the possession of a resident of Villa Josefina Subdivision in Toril, Davao City.

Operatives immediately responded to the area and assisted the complainants in recovering the vehicles.

Initial investigation showed that the recovered vehicles were included in the nationwide Hold Order Vehicles list after being reported as “Failed to Return” by the suspect couple.

Authorities also learned that the suspects had already been charged for alleged violation of the Anti-Carnapping Law before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Taguig City.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine additional circumstances surrounding the case.

The PNP-HPG XI has yet to release further details regarding the identities of the suspects and the ownership documents of the recovered vehicles.
