16 killed in passenger bus crash in Indonesia

A passenger bus in Indonesia lost control and slammed into a concrete barrier, resulting in a deadly accident.

The incident claimed the lives of 16 people, while at least 34 others were injured.

The bus was traveling from Jakarta to Yogyakarta and was reportedly moving at a “fairly high” speed at the time of the crash.

It took police about 40 minutes to arrive at and respond to the scene of the accident.

Authorities recovered the bodies of six individuals at the crash site, while 10 others died while being transported to the hospital and during rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, 18 victims are still receiving medical treatment. Five of them are in critical condition, while 13 are listed in serious condition.
