₱1.16M worth of ecstasy seized by BOC at Port of Clark

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) – Port of Clark has intercepted a shipment containing ₱1.161 million worth of Ecstasy, concealed inside a heating boiler. The shipment, declared as “Central Heating Boiler,” originated from Germany.

Detailed profiling and X-ray scanning by Customs’ X-ray Inspection Project (XIP) inspectors revealed unusual images within the package. A K-9 sniff test confirmed suspicions, leading to a thorough physical examination. Officials discovered 2.05 kilograms of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (Ecstasy) hidden in the boiler.

The operation was carried out with representatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), PNP Aviation Security Unit, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, NBI Pampanga, and barangay officials of Dau, Mabalacat City.

Field testing confirmed the presence of Ecstasy, classified as a dangerous drug under R.A. No. 9165. A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued for violations of Section 118(g), Section 119(d), and Section 1113 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) in relation to R.A. No. 9165.

“This latest successful interception underscores our determination to safeguard our borders and uphold the safety of our citizens,” said Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio. “We remain resolute in collaborating with partner agencies to detect and neutralize threats, such as Ecstasy, that jeopardize the well-being of our nation.”
