A 25-year-old woman was arrested in an entrapment and rescue operation conducted in Iligan City on April 28, 2026, resulting in the rescue of two minor victims allegedly exploited online.
The Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) Task Force Against Online Sexual Abuse of Children led the operation at about 2:25 p.m. in Purok 12-E, Barangay Sta. Elena.
Authorities said the suspect allegedly used online platforms to exploit minors and send explicit materials in exchange for money. Police reported that the suspect sent five nude photos of her three-year-old younger sister, prompting intensified efforts to arrest the suspect and rescue the children involved.
During the operation, authorities confiscated one cellular phone and one identification card from the suspect.
Following the arrest, authorities coordinated with the Linamon Municipal Police Station and social workers to locate the minor victims believed to be exploited online.
At about 5:05 p.m. on the same day, two female minors, aged 3 and 12, were successfully rescued.
The victims were formally turned over at about 5:45 p.m. to the City Social Welfare and Development Children Assessment and Processing Center in Barangay Poblacion, Iligan City for proper care and intervention.
The suspect was brought to Iligan City Police Station 2 for proper disposition as authorities continue their investigation.
Authorities said the suspect may face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 11930, Republic Act 9208, and Republic Act 7610, which cover offenses related to child exploitation, trafficking, and abuse.
