VP Sara: Duterte is not the problem of the Philippines

Vice President Sara Duterte stood firm on Thursday, declaring that she and her family are not the problem in the country, as she criticized the current administration during a PDP–Laban miting de avance.

Speaking to supporters, Duterte said Filipinos are now “paying the price” for choosing the wrong leader in the last election. She claimed that the current president lacks the capacity to understand the real situation of the Filipino people and fails to make decisions in the interest of the public.

She urged voters to treat the present political climate as a lesson and to choose better leaders in the upcoming polls.

Duterte also promoted the “Dutert10” — a senatorial slate backed by her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte. She encouraged the public to vote for candidates who stand for concrete and long-term programs, instead of what she described as temporary aid.

“Filipinos deserve better,” she said, criticizing what she claimed was a leadership style focused on short-term, unsustainable solutions.

The vice president’s remarks are seen as a clear rebuke of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration, though she did not mention him by name.

The upcoming elections are widely viewed as a test of the Duterte political brand’s resilience.
