The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that the Visayas grid will once again be placed under yellow alert status today.
According to the NGCP, the yellow alert will be in effect from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Several power plants are currently on forced outage, while some others are operating at derated capacities.
The corporation also cited high system demand as one of the factors affecting the declaration of a yellow alert.
Meanwhile, normal operations are expected for both the Luzon and Mindanao grids.
Under a yellow alert status, the operating margin is insufficient to meet the contingency requirement of the transmission grid.
