Vehicle crashes into tree and electric pole in Davao City

A vehicle crashed into a tree and an electric pole early Saturday in Barangay Malamba, Marilog District, Davao City, leaving one passenger injured.

Authorities identified the driver as a single female resident of Ladislawa, Davao City. According to the initial investigation, the SUV was traveling along the Davao-Bukidnon National Highway from Buda toward Davao City.

Upon reaching the descending and curved portion the vehicle collided with a large tree and subsequently hit a Davao Light concrete pole.

The passenger, identified as Maria Thina Antao, sustained injuries during the incident. She was immediately assisted by the Barangay Suawan Rescue Team and brought to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.

The vehicle sustained significant damage from the crash.

Authorities reported that the driver claimed the accident occurred due to a mechanical issue, specifically a brake malfunction. However, the matter remains under investigation.
