Two police officers assigned in Taguig City were arrested along with three civilians during a buy-bust operation conducted by authorities in Arca South on March 7, 2026.
The operation was carried out at around 4:27 p.m. by operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group’s Special Operations Unit–National Capital Region.
Authorities identified the two arrested police officers as both holding the rank of Police Corporal.
One of the officers was assigned at the Taguig City Police Station Sub-Station 9, while the other was assigned at the Investigation Detection Management Section of the Taguig City Police Station.
According to authorities, the suspects were apprehended during the anti-drug operation conducted by the police unit.
Recovered from the suspects during the operation were around 100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of approximately ₱680,000.
Police also seized two service firearms believed to belong to the arrested officers.
In addition, authorities confiscated five cellular phones and several identification cards from the suspects.
The arrested individuals are now facing charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities have not yet released further details about the identities of the suspects as of this writing.
The Philippine National Police has repeatedly warned its personnel against involvement in illegal activities, particularly drug-related offenses, and has maintained that officers found violating the law will face appropriate charges.
Investigations related to the incident are ongoing.
