Comedienne Tuesday Vargas responded to bashers who mocked her for accepting a hosting job at a bingo event.
The backlash came after she shared the gig in a Facebook post, which drew ridicule and “laugh” reactions from over 200 netizens.
Some commenters insinuated that her showbiz career had declined, while others claimed she was desperate for money.
In response, Vargas said she would never be ashamed of an honest job that helps support her family.
She also shared that hosting similar events is not new to her, as it helped fund her studies at the University of the Philippines during college.
Vargas advised critics to focus their frustrations on pressing national issues, such as flood control, instead of criticizing her livelihood.
She ended by proudly revealing that she earned P100,000 as a talent fee from the event.
