LTO denies alleged registration fee hike, calls claims ‘fake news’

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has dismissed as “fake news” social media posts claiming that the agency imposed a 100% increase in vehicle registration fees without prior notice.

According to the LTO, the circulating posts are not true.

The agency also stressed that it continues to make its services more affordable, especially amid the current challenges facing the country.

It explained that registration fees and other transactions are based on existing rules and laws approved by the government, and that there has been no sudden or unannounced rate increase.

In conclusion, the LTO urged the public not to believe unverified information regarding alleged fee hikes.
