A tricycle driver in General Santos City has apologized to the public after reportedly charging ₱250 to a group of Batang Pinoy 2025 delegates for a short trip from Bulaong to Barangay Lagao.
The incident happened during the ongoing Batang Pinoy National Games, where hundreds of young athletes and delegates are visiting the city.
According to the Public Safety Office (PSO), the normal fare for the same route should not exceed ₱30 to ₱40 per person, depending on distance and traffic.
The tricycle driver admitted his mistake after being identified and publicly apologized, saying he never intended to take advantage of the visitors.
City officials reminded all drivers and operators to follow fare regulations and uphold professional conduct, especially when serving guests and participants of national events.
The PSO encouraged commuters to report any similar incidents through their official hotlines to ensure fair and safe transportation for everyone.
