Tragic crash victim robbed after death, grieving mother begs for return of stolen items

A mother is pleading for the return of her deceased son’s belongings after they were allegedly stolen at the scene of a fatal car crash in Barangay Sinawal, Gensan Santos City.

Rodolfo Belila, a 30-year-old seaman from Barangay Labangal, died after his car collided with a forward truck at around 6 p.m. His mother, Mel Belila, said that his gold necklace (worth P25,000), cellphone, and ATM card containing P175,000 went missing after the accident.

She hopes that those who took the items will return them, either to the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) Gensan or Brigada News, even anonymously.

Rodolfo was preparing to return to work as a seaman on March 3. Before the accident, he had gone swimming in Barangay San Jose. On the way home, his car crashed, instantly killing him and 17-year-old passenger Gerald Aleria from Barangay San Isidro.

Another passenger in the front seat survived after reclining their seat before impact but remains in critical condition.
