Authorities arrested a top drug suspect in a late-night raid on January 23, seizing illegal drugs and a firearm in a high-impact operation in Davao City.
Alias Melchor, identified as the eighth most wanted drug personality at the city level, was apprehended during the execution of a search warrant.
The operation, led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 11 and the City Drug Enforcement Unit, took place at Purok 5, Barrio Tagalog, Barangay 4-A.
Law enforcement officers confiscated 13 heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu, valued at ₱71,400. Additionally, a .45 caliber pistol, a magazine, five live rounds, and a black sling bag were recovered.
Melchor is now in police custody, along with the seized items, for proper disposition. The suspect faces charges under Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
