Tito Sotto pushes early retirement at 39

Senator-elect Tito Sotto is set to push for a bill allowing workers in the Philippines to retire at the age of 39.

Sotto revealed that he plans to file the proposal in the next congressional session. He said this would give workers an option to retire much earlier than the current retirement age of 60.

He emphasized that this system could also help open up job opportunities for others.

He added that a previous study showed around 30% of Filipinos were interested in early retirement to use their benefits as business capital.

While the details of the measure have yet to be finalized, Sotto assured the public that further research will be conducted before formally filing the bill in Congress.
