The Department of Social Welfare and Development has extended assistance to the family of a motorcycle taxi rider who was fatally stabbed by his own passenger in Caloocan City.
According to DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, the agency’s National Capital Region Field Office has already provided initial assistance to the family of victim Fabio Norberte Jr.
The agency said Norberte was a solo parent, and his child is reportedly living with autism spectrum disorder, making immediate government support even more important.
The assistance includes 10,000 pesos in cash aid and funeral assistance to help the family cope with their immediate needs.
The DSWD also provided the victim’s family with a list of documentary requirements to apply for medical assistance and other forms of financial support under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, or AICS, program.
The agency assured the public that it remains committed to providing the necessary interventions and support to help the bereaved family recover from their loss and address their urgent needs.
