The family of 19-year-old Jade Sumambot, a second-year college student, is seeking justice after his tragic death from a stray bullet during New Year’s celebrations.
Jade, a resident of Barangay New Visayas, Panabo City, was struck by a stray bullet on the forehead while welcoming the New Year. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on January 2, leaving his family and friends devastated.
Col. Alex Serrano, the Provincial Commander of the Davao del Norte Police, confirmed ongoing coordination with the family for an autopsy. The bullet, still lodged in Jade’s forehead, is expected to provide vital evidence, including the caliber of the weapon used.
